Our 2nd Day in Rotorua

Another beautiful day. We have had outstanding weather.  Every day has had a high between 20C and 25C.  The New Zealanders have been apologizing for the weather as it is cooler and wetter than usual but the temp is fine with us and the rain, if we have any, has tended to be at night.

We stayed on a ”lifestyle farm”.  It is a small farm and this host took us on a tour.  He had a small number of sheep, ostriches, alpacas, cows and deer.  Some were quite tame others were quite skittish.  It was interesting to see and watch the sheep dog herding the sheep.

We then drove around Lake Rotorua and ended up at a park with geysers, mud pools and other thermal activity.  We had a guided tour and it was very interesting.  There also was a Maori Arts and Crafts School at this site so we saw them carving and weaving.

There are number of spas (we would call them hot springs if in BC or Alberta) so we decided to go to one.  You could pay to be in a private pool rather than the main pool with everyone else so we did that and it was very relaxing.
