Across the Cook Straight

We turned our car in at the ferry terminal in Wellington and then picked up another car on our arrival at Picton on the South Island.  We had a sunny day with high cloud for the crossing so it was a pleasant 3 hours and 10 minutes.  We saw a few dauphins surface but there wasn’t as much activity as they sometime have.

We are now in Nelson for 3 days.  It is a lovely clean small city.  We can walk from our B and B to the downtown area with all of it’s art and craft shops and many great dining places.
