Lois and I started talking about a trip to New Zealand in Jan. 2011 to celebrate out 40th Wedding Anniversary in 2012. New Zealand is a place we have both wanted to go to. The challenge was getting there in a manner that Lois would be able to manage. We decided we were only going to New Zealand and not onto Australia. To break up the trip we decided we would stop someplace in the South Pacific both going and coming. I tried to arrange flights to accomplish this on my own but in the end used Goway Travel in Toronto to arrange the flights and accommodation in the South Pacific. For the time in New Zealand we will be renting a car and staying in Bed and Breakfasts - this was all organized with a woman in Christchurch who has a company Meet New Zealand that organizes such trips.
The result of all of this is we leave here Feb. 13 and fly to Los Angeles. The evening of the 14th we fly to Fiji for a week and then onto New Zealand for 31 days. On our return we will be stopping for a week in The Cook Islands, stop for a night in LA and arrived home the evening of April 2.
My plan is to post to this blog as often as I am able. I know most of our accommodation in New Zealand has WiFi but I am not so sure about Fiji and The Cook Islands.
