Dinner at the winery
was wonderful.
We made our way down
to Wellington with a couple of stops along way - drove through nice farm
country. We had to detour around the
gorge, where the highway has been out for 8 months due to rock slides and
subsequent instability. There was a
large section of Wind Turbines which we drove amongst.
Arrived at our hotel
around 4:30 PM and phoned the only people we know in NZ. Ruth Gardner, who I worked with and Leil
Setchell whose Dad I used to work with. Leil will pick us up tomorrow for lunch
and Ruth for dinner.
Had dinner here at
the hotel and then went for a walk afterwards.
Not a lot to see as we are in the government, business/financial section
of the city. Wellington is an extremely
windy city.
