Today was a
different day as we spent it with people we knew from Canada. Leil Setchell picked us up at noon and took
us on a great tour of Wellington. We
went up to a single wind turbine that was the first installed in New Zealand in
the 1990’s. We then drove all along the
shoreline. Wellington has a very
extensive shoreline because of the significant number of bays throughout
it. We ended up at The Chocolate Fish
where Leil treated us to a great fish lunch.
After we said
goodbye to Leil we wondered around downtown and found our way back to the hotel. We then met Ruth Gardiner at 5:30 PM in the
hotel lobby and she introduced us to her fiancé, Ian. This was a total surprise to me but he was
very nice and I am happy for Ruth. They
took us out to a lovely dinner on a wharf, overlooking the harbour. I really didn’t want them to pay but they
insisted.
