Tokoriki Island
Resort
This is an amazing
resort. There are only 34 Bures (individual
bungalows), so with 2 to a room the maximum number of guests would be 64. This is the off season so they are not at
capacity. It surprised us that this is the off season but their primary
clientele is Aussie’s and New Zealander’s.
So it is the off season the way the Caribbean would have an off season
during our summer.
The resort is
privately owned by an Australian family and is extremely well maintained – no
detail is overlooked. The food is
outstanding and they must have a very good chef for such a small resort. Oh
yes, the coffee is very good in spite of the many warnings I had to the
contrary.
We enjoyed a private
beach picnic one day. We were taken to a
small island near here (next to the one where Tom Hanks filmed The Castaways)
and left for 4 hours to enjoy our picnic, snorkel and walk the beach. It was very romantic!
Yesterday I went on
snorkeling trip around the island with 3 snorkeling stops which was fun,
although my back is a little sunburned.
Last night I
participated in a Kava ceremony with about 20 other people. It’s a very mild narcotic so Lois declined.
Lois is almost
finished her 6th book. I am
40% of the way through my first!!
Wow! Lois had already read 6 books? Would you provide a book list? We are always looking for some good books!
ReplyDeleteThe snorkeling sounds like it was a lot of fun! Hope you have lots of sunscreen!
